RLM colours
Sichtschutzanstrich: that is how Luftwaffe camouflage diagrams were called at the time. This archive has been created to analize the real historical documents concerning these paintings. No reproductions, no fake documents: only the original mimetic diagrams of WWII German Airforce.
In the process of making one of my latest models, the Ta 152 H-1 “Green 9” (W.Nr. 150168), I undertook numerous analyses of photographs and various types of research to better reproduce its appearance. Upon completion, I realized how many details and peculiarities it presented and above all how much work was required to reach satisfactory conclusions. So I thought: “Why do not share them with you?”
This article is meant to illustrate all the Luftwaffe camouflage and markings colours currently known and recognized. RLM colours are here listed according to their RLM code designation. For each of them a colour chip is reproduced, in order to show their appearance in the most accurate way.
